Myths about Annulment of Marriage
I recently read an article about annulment of marriage. The writer explains in detail the grounds for annulment. This article is very helpful in clearing many doubts about annulment or nullification of marriage. I think, many people are confused about the differences between divorce and annulment. Actually, many spouses who are going to get a divorce in Alberta can try for an annulment of their marriage instead of a divorce.
Annulment of marriage is a legal procedure by which an invalid marriage is declared as void or null. It should be noted that annulment is entirely different from divorce. Annulment is not applicable to valid marriages. Divorce is required to terminate legal marriages. However, divorce can only put an end to the marriage. At the same time, an annulment makes a marriage null and void, as if it never happened. Couples can seek for annulment of marriage only if their marriage is considered as invalid by law.
A marriage is invalid if either of the wedding couples is below the minimum age of marriage. In Alberta, the marriageable age is 18. However, if you are 16 or 17 years of age, you can get married with the written consent of your parents or legal guardian. Boys under the age of 16 cannot get married under any circumstances. Anyway, it is possible for a girl below the age of 16 to get married if she is pregnant or is the mother of a living child.
Marriage annulment can be obtained for bigamous marriages. Bigamy or having more than one spouse is illegal in most societies.
How long does an amicable divorce take to finalize in the state of Oregon?
Hi Everyone,
If one were to file for an amicable divorce in the state of Oregon, how long does it take for the divorce to finalize? Also, would one have to file for separation before filing for divorce in Oregon? Anything helps!
Thanks!
An amicable (or uncontested) divorce is much faster than a contested. However the state of Oregon has a 90day mandatory waiting period. What this means is after all the paperwork is done and filed you need to wait 90 days after the day of filing before you will become legally divorced.
Alberta divorce law also does not recognize incestuous marriages like marriage between close relatives. Marriage can be annulled if one of the spouses has not been mentally stable at the time of marriage. Impotence or the inability of one party to consummate the marriage is a sufficient ground for seeking annulment.
You can file for annulment of marriage if your spouse has a history of criminal behavior or sexually transmitted diseases. Annulment is also obtainable if one of the spouses entered into marriage due to force, threat, or pressure from the other spouse or from a third party.http://www.lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?hideNav=1&locale=0&sourceId=ec21b5658af22110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&vgnextoid=2354fccf2b7db010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD

I think couples should discuss with their lawyers before applying for a divorce in Alberta. If there is any chance, they can apply for annulment of their marriage.
However, as the writer of article points out, annulment is not an easy process. Its proceedings are somewhat similar to that of a divorce.

Divorce in Today’s Times – Easy & Hassle-free

I have come across some interesting news on the internet about a Christmas deal from a British law firm. This law firm is selling a peculiar kind of Christmas Gift Vouchers that contain nothing but advice on divorce. They have launched this offer as a Christmas gift to unhappy couples. I think friends and relatives of spouses who are going to get a divorce in Alberta can think about some Christmas gifts like this to give parting couples.
The interesting point is that these vouchers are selling away like hotcakes. Obviously, this movement cannot escape from getting criticisms from various quarters. The main accusation against the law firm is that they are trying to “make a quick buck”. However, the popularity of this Christmas gifts actually shows the attitude of our society towards marriage and divorce.
Divorce is very prevalent even in a conservative and orthodox society. Many of us now consider marriage not as a sacred and permanent bond between a man and women, but as a union between two individuals for biological and psychological needs. If this union does not work properly, it is better to end it rather than painfully dragging it.
Each couple has their own marital problems and issues. If they are going to get divorced, that is not because some law firm is selling advices on divorce, but due to the reason that they cannot resolve their marital problems. People are now more conscious of the fact that they can put an end to their marriages very quickly, easily, and less costly.
divorcE……?
do you agree on divorce? why or why not?
I agree with divorce. We are just people after all and we do change as we grow older. Sometimes that change in us and the changes in life with the people we are committed too just don’t work out. It is a part of life. If we knew the path our life was going to take, we would have reached our destination some time ago, but we don’t. We live for the now, plan for best and have faith in what we believe. The choices we make are the ones that drive our feelings, at times those choices become what we feel are mistakes. We live, we learn and life goes on. When we are broken from love, we find it in ourselves to move forward, while at times when moving forward – we leave behind our lovers. Why?
It is just the way life roles some……
Actually, now it is very easy to get divorced than to get married.
Uncontested divorce gives the parting spouses a chance to terminate their marriage in a dignified and somber manner. If both the couples have agreed to get divorced, they can have an uncontested or no-fault divorce. They must be able to negotiate and solve all issues associated with divorce without going to a court. For getting an uncontested divorce, the couples should not have any discrepancies over divorce-related issues like child custody, property distribution, and financial arrangements.

Divorce With Dignity!
I have read an internet article regarding the divorce between Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his wife Veronica Lario. In that article, it is stated that Ms. Lario wants to make the divorce a “very messy affair.” I know many couples who are going through the process of getting an Alberta divorce may have same mentality. However, I hope, there are also a number of couples who want to separate their ways in a dignified manner.
Collaborative divorce helps the parting spouses to resolve all the differences very amicably. To get collaborative divorce, both the spouses have to work together along with their family lawyers, divorce coaches, psychologists, and financial advisers. The spouses and their lawyers should sign a document agreeing that they will try together to solve the problems associated with their divorce without going to court.
The idea of collaborative divorce has been initiated by a Minnesota lawyer, Stuart Webb. After fifteen years of practice as a divorce lawyer, he has decided to help his clients to resolve their divorce issues outside the court. Soon, he found many followers in and outside United States. In Alberta also, if you want, you can choose to have divorce through “Collaborative Family Law Process.”
Collaborative divorce can be achieved only if the both the spouses can work together without any grudge against each other.
DIVORCE!!!…???????
my parents ALWAYS fight over the stupidest things…like this night they fought -screaming fighting- at eachother because they couldnt decide on what to watch on tv……my mom does get annoying when she repeats herself but my dad is the worst,,, she’ll try to tell him about her day and he says COME ON GET ON WITH IT or I JUST DONT CARE……and he is never a gentleman….but hes sometimes funny……….i hate the fights and i wish they would just divorce because it would be easier on me and my brother….marriage with fighting is way worse then divorce with peace right??? help me out
Divorce is really hard it is not fun to go through but it is not your choice to make it is theirs just tell them what you are felling and ask them not to in front of you and your brother
But yea marriage when people don’t like each other is worse
Both husband and wife should be able to treat each other patiently and respectfully. They have to communicate openly and calmly. They must be willing to explore all the possible alternatives to find out an amicable solution to their problems.

Unemployment And Divorce
A news article that I have come across on the internet describes how unemployment or fear of unemployment can affect relationships. This article clearly states “Anglicare’s annual State of the Family report has warned family relationships are coming under pressure not only when jobs are lost, but also when people fear they might lose their job.” Though this article explains the situation in Australia, it is relevant everywhere. I think many people who are seeking a divorce in Alberta can tell the same story.
Losing your job can create many problems in your life. This condition can wreck a person socially, emotionally, and financially. There will be frustrations and disappointments. You will feel sad, angry, and hurt at this change. Naturally, all these emotions will affect your married life.
Getting laid off will create lot of stress within the family. There will be anxiety, depression, and uncertainty among family members. They will start to blame each other. The news article clearly indicates that this stress can cause or hasten family breakdown.
Losing your job can affect the family equilibrium. The focus will be shifted from you. Sometimes, you will become less attractive to your spouse. Your influence will diminish within the family. You will lose your self esteem and self confidence.
Unemployment will adversely affect financial condition of your family.
How do I get a cheap divorce without using a divorce attorney?
I know that divorce for men is not easy. My partner and I are done, so how do I leave my ex without spending all my money on a divorce lawyer? Is there a way to get a free divorce? Any divorce advice that will help me win my divorce is greatly appreciated.
Hey Greg,
I have been divorced once already and am going through my second divorce, this time without a divorce attorney. A cheap divorce for men is tough, and knowing how to get a divorce without breaking the bank is even tougher. I just came across http://newdivorcetactics.com/ and there is some great advice for men and women planning a divorce here. This site is filled with divorce tactics and strategies that will allow you to learn how to move on, and keep the divorce attorneys from stealing everything you and your ex have accumulated. I love my kids and get along with my ex, but not enough to go bankrupt in the process. Hope this helps you figure out how to get a divorce!
The matter will become very worse if you are the breadwinner of family. The family will definitely plunge into a very serious financial situation. Money problems can definitely trigger off many other factors that can ultimately lead to family breakdown.

Top Reasons For Seeking Divorce
A friend of mine says this often, “If marriage is possible, why not divorce?” Yes, divorce is also possible if marriage is. What are the topmost reasons that couples give to end up their married life? There are many, to be exact: physical and mental harassment, abuse, sexual impotence, poor communication, lack of money, change in priorities etc. This is not something that I say. This is what a news article says about the top reasons for divorce. Divorce is universal and it can be taken that these are the reasons for divorce in Alberta.
People fall in love seriously and do so for years together. They decide to get married and look forward for an eventful future but all those dreams crumble one day when one of the spouses asks for a divorce. This is what happens in most of the cases. I’ve known a couple who were madly in love for 5 years. In fact, they loved one another so deeply that my friends and I thought that only death will do them apart and envied the commitment they showed in their relationship. They got married and the dream turned into a nightmare. Three months later they were fighting with one another and filed for divorce. Is this how strong people’s love is? The reason for their divorce was sexual dissatisfaction. If only their love was true they would have brushed aside the issue pertaining to carnal pleasure.
Financial issues and ego problems come next. One can take care of financial issues through proper planning, implementation and efficient management of the family’s money. But ego problems are hard to solve and egoists’ minds are even harder to break. Chauvinism and domination also affects the relationship. Though the bond called marriage is sacred everyone has to realize that he/she is originally alone. The great Lebanese poet Kahlil Gibran says, “Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.” Yes one should neither totally submit to his/her partner’s will nor take them for granted.
What are the main causes of divorce? I know there are many reasons as to why people get divorced, but what are?
the main reasons, situations, causes, that cause a wife and husband to break-up. Is it financial problems? Communication? I know cheating or having an affair is obvious, but I don’t think that happens as often for other reasons, what usually causes a wife and husband, even if they have children or not, what usually causes them to fight and argue that will ultimately end in divorce or separation? I am just wondering because the divorce rate is very high, like at least 50 percent of marriages end in divorce, what are the main causes of divorce?
it begins with being unable to communicate, or problem solve, but betrayal is the real reason it ends.
Both are totally detrimental for the smooth passage of married life.
According to me lying and cheating upon one’s spouse is unpardonable. When a person lies he/she creates a false atmosphere of a certain thing which they think will last long. But they would feel too bad and repentant when that false atmosphere dissolves into air. That is one of the highest forms of betrayal a person can do to his/her spouse.
An article which I read a month ago about marriage was very much appealing to me. The last paragraph of it said that sex and money are very much important for one’s married life. It even gave a lot of statistics to show the rise and fall in the divorce rate in Australia. I wanted to explore the other noteworthy reasons for divorce among couples and ventured into this.http://www.divorcehelp.com/
